Well, no, wunderwaffen is the opposite design concept. Where you make fewer but superior weapons.

Turned out T-34 goes brrr because USSR could make like 20 for every Tiger the Reich made, at which point it doesn’t matter how superior Tiger was.

The better question for Rutte here is how are they gonna achieve mass production of serviceable weapons what with the industrial decline in Europe.

Thirteen years this shit stain shows up in my face as ‘my’ president. Scandal after scandal happened. I figured we’d finally be done with him and he would fuck off to some corporate job somewhere. But nope, he becomes head of NATO during an extremely crucial time.

It’s a question of incentives in the end. Privatized military industrial complex wants to maximize profits. Making cheap weapons at scale means having large factories, hiring a lot of workers, and having low profit margins. Making toys like F35 in artisanal batches, and then charging for maintenance is where it’s really at.

By the time western military contractors “finishes” some new design, it’s already obsolete.

“We need to pillage more from social services to give to military contractors. How else are we going to drop hundreds of bombs on hundreds or thousands of years old regions of the world in an attempt to erase them and their people from existence, so we can put up a golf course there? Who is going to be there to accelerate climate change and destroy the ecosystem if NATO falls? We have to be able to teach these civilized peoples how to be more barbaric, or else they might want world peace through self determination and mutually beneficial interdependence, and that’s just bad for business.” (if they were honest)
